"Aaack! I'm Graduating Now What?" Workshop
Vanguard, NSBE, AMP and SHPE are teaming up to provide you with advice, reassurance and sage wisdom about life after college.
Don't just wait for change after graduation, plan for it instead. Free food and unlimited answers to life's burning questions (now what?), we (SHPE, NSBE and AMP) hope to see you guys there!

That's it guys, that's a wrap on LHM! I hope you had fun but before we go, SHPE is putting on one more event, the long awaited Closing Ceremony!
We're pulling out the and having a no holds barred amazing fiesta and you're invited!
So bring yourself, your friends, your mom, and your cousins too; eat, drink, dance and be merry with your resident SHPE famailia while we let them hear us take the month out!

Hispanic Scholarship Fund!
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and Marathon Oil Corporation ScholarshipProgram a need based scholarship for up to $10,000 each year to HispanicAmerican, African American, Asian Pacific Islander American, or AmericanIndian/Alaskan Native heritage. Selected students can receive up to $10,000for two academic years for a possible total award of $20,000.
In addition, scholars are offered the opportunity to participate in a paid8-10 week summer internship at various Marathon Oil Corporation locations. Scholars are paired with Marathon Oil Corporation employee who will serve asprofessional mentors.
Eligible participants must:
* Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with avalid Social Security Number at the time of application. All legal permanentresidents must submit a copy of their valid permanent resident card orpassport stamped I-551.
* Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00scale.
* Be a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering, civil engineering,electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering,geology, geophysics, accounting, marketing, global procurement or supplychain management, environmental health & safety, energy management orpetroleum land management, transportation & logistics and geotechnicalengineering.
* Be a senior planning to earn a Masters degree in geology or geophysics.
* Agree to participate in a possible paid summer internship opportunitywith Marathon Oil Corporation.
* Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Applicationfor Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Chalk for Unity! - LHM Event

Today starting at 1pm Jose will lead a chalk for freedom muralization of Nesbitt hall. Help him demonstrate the strength and unity to be found in the Latino culture here on campus.

Why: cause its latino heritage month!

"Raising Victor Vargas"
Buenos Dias Familia!
Tomorrow SHPE is screening the movie "Raising Victor Vargas" and everyone should totally come out and watch. We have light refreshments, great people and of course a fantastic viewing area. so please come out and celebrate Latino Heritage Month during this very special occassion.
When: Oct. 11, 2006
Where: Curtis 340 from 6pm to 8pm
Why: 'cause on the inside of us there is a tiny latino waiting to be exhaled...

ETCC 2006
Hey kiddos is there anyone out there who wants to go to ETCC? its $100 and its on Oct. 27th and Oct. 28th. let me know by phone (832 607 8950), by facebook, or by email (dsk32@drexel.edu) if you want to go. we have three open spots (you still gotta pay).
don't know what ETCC is? go to www.hetci.org to learn more about it. its SHPE's regional conference and its in Philly at the Marriott and its kinda neat, "mixers" (parties in disguise), career fairs, and workshops all for the low low price of $100.
you should totally go we're supposed to be up for chapter of the year for the region so it should be really good!

that's right its the return of shpe to its all mighty and presitigous position as the best and the brightest org on Drexel campus! As we all know this is Latino Heritage Month and to start it off right we are having a Potluck! Now read the following pertinent information:

Where: Newman Center
Why: Latino Heritage Month Celebration
What: Free food, pay attention Geez!! Bring some food, chill with SHPE, learn about the other stuff going on this month and the fantastic conference places this month. Do it!
